Catalan gastronomy and international recognition for the land of Barcelona’s cuisine has established a prestigious narrative for Catalan food products. In this realm, primarily, and also in the cultural, artistic, and business sectors, there are individuals who have significantly contributed to the generation and strengthening of a positive image of Catalan food and Catalonia on the global stage.

Catalan Food Ambassador distinction

Catalonia awards the Catalan Food Ambassador distinctions to recognize individuals with the most excellent and significant careers in spreading and promoting the values of Catalan food and gastronomy worldwide. This designation aims to acknowledge and thank those who, on a personal level, have contributed and continue to contribute to the international dissemination of the values of Catalan gastronomic culture and food products.

How to submit a nomination

An official form must be completed, which may be accompanied by any documentation and/or audiovisual material deemed necessary to support the merits of the proposed nomination. Supporting materials and endorsements may also be included as deemed appropriate.

The deadline for submitting endorsements will close 6 calendar days before the jury's constitution meeting. Endorsements can be sent to the email address ambassadors@catalanfood.com, indicating in the email subject the nomination being supported.

Official form

The jury

The Jury will consist of individuals designated annually, one by one, by DACC-Prodeca, based on their connection to Catalan food and gastronomy. Individuals or representatives of institutions or organizations. The Jury will have a chairperson and a secretary, both with voting rights, who will be appointed by DACC-Prodeca. The chairperson will organize and direct the deliberations and voting. The secretary will record the jury’s decision and ensure compliance with the rules contained in the call for nominations. Annually, a maximum of 10 distinctions will be awarded.

The distinctions

Catalan Food Ambassadors distinctions will be awarded in Barcelona on January 30th at a corporate event organized by Prodeca, at Forum Catalan Food.
