Albert Jané, a native of El Vendrell, is a young winemaker who comes from a family that has been involved in the world of wine since 1914. He left his own land, Baix Penedès, moving first to D.O. Montsant and then also to the DOQ Priorat. Now, he is returning home to start his life-long and most personal project in Mas Vilella, his family’s estate.
The AUTÒCTON brand (meaning ‘Native’ in Catalan) has been registered since 2007. Albert was certain that one day he would return to his own land to make wine and work to improve the prestige of its region, getting the best from the local varieties.
Native varieties such as Sumoll, Xarel·lo Vermell, Malvasia de Sitges take pride of place.
