From November 11 to 13, Prodeca, the Catalan Food Promotion Agency, in collaboration with Anafric, and with the support of the President of Anafric and the Delegate of the Government of Catalonia in North Africa, organized a trade mission to Morocco. The initiative aimed to boost commercial relations between Catalan and Spanish lamb and beef companies and Moroccan industry leaders, exploring new opportunities for collaboration and reinforcing Catalonia’s reputation as a benchmark for quality and sustainability in this key market.

This visit comes at a strategic moment following Morocco’s recent removal of tariffs on Spanish meat, which presents an unprecedented opportunity for businesses in the sector.

The primary objective of the trade mission was to strengthen commercial ties between the Spanish meat industry and Morocco by facilitating direct connections with key stakeholders, industry representatives, and government institutions. The delegation engaged in high-level business meetings, explored new growth opportunities, and worked towards establishing a sustainable and mutually beneficial trade relationship.

By participating in this mission, Prodeca aims to showcase the high quality, sustainability, and added value of Catalan meat products, reinforcing Spain’s reputation as a reliable supplier in the Moroccan market.

The event was held in Casablanca, Rabat, and Tangier, with the participation of Moroccan and Spanish authorities, leading meat industry professionals, and key institutional representatives, including the Spanish Embassy in Morocco and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food of Spain.
